The brand emphasizes high-quality ingredients, careful craftsmanship, and clean visual presentation to create desserts that are consistent, refined, and aesthetically appealing. Each product is designed to offer customers a more elevated and professional dessert experience.
The primary target audience for Cake House consists of young individuals and sweet-tooth consumers who appreciate delightful, well-crafted desserts with a contemporary look. With a polished and cohesive visual identity, Cake House aims to establish itself as a recognizable brand that communicates quality, creativity, and a modern dessert culture.
Design Process
The design process for the Cake House visual identity followed several structured steps to ensure the final logo and brand elements were cohesive, meaningful, and aligned with the target audience. Each stage contributed to refining the concept and shaping a visual style that represents the modern, minimalist essence of the brand.
Mood board
The process began with gathering visual references related to minimalist bakery branding, line-art illustrations, pastel and neutral color palettes, as well as modern typography styles.
Initial sketches were created to explore various logo ideas focused on cake and dessert elements. Several concepts were tested, including:
-
minimal cake outlines
-
simple dripping icing shapes
-
circular badge designs
-
modern line-art cake symbols

The color palette for Cake House is based on soft pastel tones to create a gentle, warm, and inviting bakery identity. Pastel pink represents sweetness and desserts, while light blue adds balance and calmness to the overall visual appearance. A light neutral background is used to maintain a clean and minimalist look.

Typography Choices
The typography used for Cake House is Copperplate Gothic Bold, a serif typeface with minimal decorative strokes. Its clean and structured letterforms give the logo a refined and modern appearance while maintaining strong readability.
Sample Applications
The Cake House visual identity was applied to several sample materials to demonstrate real-world usage. The logo were tested on items such as packaging, stickers, menus, and social media visuals. These applications show how the branding remains clear, cohesive, and recognizable in both digital and printed formats.
Reflection
The visual identity for Cake House was developed with a focus on creating a soft, modern, and approachable bakery brand that appeals to young individuals and sweet-tooth consumers. The logo design features a minimalist line-art illustration of a cake, chosen to clearly represent the product while maintaining simplicity and elegance. A pastel color palette consisting of soft pink and light blue tones was selected to convey sweetness, warmth, and a gentle bakery atmosphere. These colors help create a calm and inviting visual mood while supporting the brand’s overall minimalist aesthetic. Copperplate Gothic Bold was used as the primary typeface due to its strong and refined letterforms, which enhance brand visibility while maintaining a clean and professional appearance.
Challenges
One of the main challenges during the design process was balancing simplicity with visual interest. As the Cake House visual identity adopts a minimalist approach, decorative elements had to be carefully limited to avoid an overly complex design. At the same time, the logo needed to remain visually engaging and not appear too plain. Achieving this balance required several design explorations and refinements to ensure the logo maintained both clarity and aesthetic appeal.
Another challenge involved refining the technical aspects of the design, particularly line thickness, proportions, and color harmony. Ensuring that the line-art illustration remained clear and readable across different sizes and applications required careful adjustment. In addition, working with soft pastel colors presented a challenge in maintaining sufficient contrast while preserving the gentle and cohesive visual identity of the brand. These challenges were addressed through iterative testing and refinement in Adobe Illustrator.
Design Principles
The application of design principles played an important role in shaping the final visual identity of Cake House. The principle of balance was applied through the symmetrical layout of the logo, where the cake illustration is centered within the arch shape and aligned with the typography below. This creates a stable and visually pleasing composition. Alignment was carefully considered by positioning the logo icon and the brand name along a central vertical axis, ensuring a clean and organized appearance.
The principle of contrast was achieved through the use of soft pastel colors against a light background, allowing the logo elements to remain visible without appearing harsh. The contrast between the thin line-art illustration and the bold typography also helps establish visual hierarchy, making the brand name clear and readable. Consistency was maintained through the repeated use of pastel tones, uniform line thickness, and consistent typography across all logo variations and applications.
In addition, the principle of simplicity guided the overall design approach by limiting decorative elements and focusing on essential forms. This ensures that the logo remains clear, recognizable, and adaptable across different sizes and platforms. Together, these design principles contribute to a cohesive, modern, and aesthetically pleasing brand identity for Cake House
